TakeRoot Milwaukee

Take Root Milwaukee is a consortium of over 50 community organizations, neighborhoods groups, HUD-certified housing counseling agencies, Realtors, and lenders working to promote sustainable homeownership in the City of Milwaukee. Take Root Milwaukee members offer free or low-cost services that can help you buy, keep, or fix a home.

Dominican Center

The Dominican Center works with Amani residents and partners to build a better future. The Dominican Center is a resource for residents in the areas of adult education, housing and building neighborhood capacity, offering them support in a welcoming, compassionate and responsive environment.

Acts Housing

Acts Housing provides one-on-one and online, HUD-approved homebuyer and financial counseling for individuals and families to help them become ready to buy. As a real estate brokerage, Acts represents families in the purchase of homes for owner occupancy in Milwaukee and Beloit. Acts then helps families plan and execute home rehabilitation, with a focus on reclaiming vacant foreclosures. Our affiliated nonprofit partner, Acts Lending, Inc., provides mortgage loans for rehabilitation projects.

Housing Resources Inc.

Housing Resources Inc. (HRI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families purchase their own homes. HRI’s work improves the community in numerous ways: we help stabilize families, we facilitate neighborhood improvement, we support homebuyers in building and preserving equity for future generations.

EvictionFree MKE offers free legal services to individuals facing eviction within Milwaukee County.

Community Advocates

Community Advocates provides a range of programs and services for tenants and landlords in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. They include: City of Milwaukee Rental Housing Stability Fund, Community Advocates Tenant/Landlord Programs, Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center and Waukesha County Emergency Rental Assistance.

Rooted & Rising's dedication to affordable housing is a mission-driven effort grounded in the belief that housing should be secure, well-maintained, and affordable for all families. In a city facing a daunting affordable housing crisis, Rooted & Rising aims to contribute to the community by offering low income housing and property management that cater to the diverse needs of residents.

Wisconsin Community Services

WCS works individuals and families to address unmet needs and reduce involvement with public systems by providing person-centered services and programs such as mental health programs, recovery programs, peer support services, re-entry services, workforce development services and more.

Milwaukee Public Library

The library provides FREE access to music, books, audiobooks, movies, magazines, and many other resources including tutoring services, gaming resources, STEAM programs, youth & adult programs, reading programs and so much more!

Mental Health of America

Mental Health America of Wisconsin (MHA) is an affiliate of the nation’s leading community-based non-profit dedicated to helping all Americans achieve wellness by living mentally healthier lives. Our work is driven by our commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including: Prevention services for all, Early identification and intervention for those at risk, Integrated care and treatment for those who need it, Recovery as the goal

Direct Connect MKE (DCMKE)

DCMKE is the city’s new interactive social media mobile accessible platform . Unemployed and underemployed young adults and millennials in Milwaukee’s emerging neighborhoods can now easily access vital information on job training, job supports, and job placement opportunities.

Impact Inc (2-1-1)

Serving Southeastern Wisconsin for more than 60 years, IMPACT helps people take the first step toward changing their life, for good. Impact assesses and guides those experiencing personal crisis toward resources to achieve stability; and collaborate with community partners to foster system improvement.
